An early 19th century, good quality cutlery tray in mahogany of lovely colour and patina. The rectangular tray of fine dove-tailed construction with protruding base is divided at its centre by a tall and decoratively shaped carrying handle. A practical piece ideal today for a variety of domestic uses; for cutlery as originally designed, as a desk tidy, for household cleaning products etc. There is one small crack in the timber at one end (see photo) but otherwise the piece remains in well used but excellent condition. Circa 1820.
