Of historical significance and interest, a striking, mid 19th century, hand drawn and coloured, framed original watercolour Armorial: the coat of arms of Sir Richard Jenkins (1785-1853), MP for Shrewsbury (1837-41) and chairman of the East India Company (1839). He saw active service in India where he was at the battle of Seetabuldee and the capture of Nagpore which features on the pennant at the top of the crest. The watercolour is within an oak frame with gilt slip and features the ribboned motto: 'Perge Sed Caute' [Advance but Cautiously] with above, two Indian soldier supporters.  Sir Richard was invested as Knight Grand Cross, Order of the Bath (GCB) in 1838 and awarded the Third Maratta War medal.  A decorative armorial in excellent condition, the colours remaining vibrant.  Circa 1845-50.
